June to August brings the west monsoon, stronger winds and rougher crossings; we will generally talk you out of it rather than sell you a bad week.

The trip runs from a resort base with your own speedboat, so days are built around day trips out and back rather than around a dive schedule at sea. Scuba diving itself is arranged separately from the package — tell us you want to dive and we will build the dive plan and quote it alongside.

Rates are per person and the trip runs privately for your group. Four days and three nights start at USD 1,100 per person at Lalelka Resort, or USD 1,200 at Panun; five days and four nights start at USD 1,200 and USD 1,300. Those are twelve-person figures, so a smaller group pays more per head — treat them as a floor rather than a quote.

Included: three or four nights at Lalelka or Panun Resort on a twin-share basis, a night at Aston Sorong either side of the flights, a speedboat private to your group, all meals, Sorong airport transfers, entrance fees at the destinations, travel insurance, and drone, mirrorless and GoPro documentation across the trip. Not included: snorkelling gear — bring your own or rent locally, which is the one that catches people out — plus the Raja Ampat entry pin (USD 35 domestic, USD 53 foreign, ages twelve and over), flights, the visa, scuba diving, and personal spending.

Fly into Jakarta (CGK) or Bali (DPS), then take the domestic leg to Domine Eduard Osok Airport (SOQ) in Sorong — three to four hours. We meet you at arrivals and handle the transfer. The Sorong hotel night is already in the package, so a late arrival does not cost you a day.

Yes, and we ask for proof. Cover must include emergency evacuation. Misool is remote and the nearest chamber is a long way off, which makes evacuation slow and expensive — this is not a place to save a premium.

The minimum is two people, and rooms are twin-share — one room per two. A single traveller can join by pairing with another guest of the same gender, or by paying the single-room supplement. Tell us which you would prefer and we will price both.

Yes, and this shape suits them better than most. You are based at a resort rather than on a boat, so there is somewhere to stay behind, and the speedboat is yours — it can drop non-divers at a beach or a village and come back. Fifteen destinations across the route are worth seeing whether or not you get in the water.

A soft bag rather than a hard case — room storage is finite. A 3 mm suit or shorty covers water at 28-30°C. Reef-safe sunscreen, a 10-20 litre dry bag, and a torch for the Farondi and Yilliet caverns. Most importantly: regulator, dive computer and mask travel in your carry-on, never in the hold.

Peak weeks — December to February — carry the longest lead times and the most demand, so if your dates are fixed there, start early. The shoulder months of May and September open up far more readily and often price better.

Sites are chosen each morning against the tide and the conditions. A guide will move or drop a dive rather than put the group somewhere the current does not suit them, and that call is not open to negotiation from the deck. Longer routes carry more margin to absorb a bad day than three-night ones do.

Yes — that is the only arrangement. Every departure runs for your group alone, from two people up to twelve; nobody else joins. The more of you there are, the less each person pays. Most trips run five nights or more.

Not in Misool. The nearest facility is a long way off, which is exactly why the certification bar, the 4:1 ratio, emergency oxygen aboard and mandatory evacuation cover all exist. Dive conservatively and follow the briefings.
