Who Runs These Expeditions

One region, one vessel, up to twelve guests. We do not sell everywhere in Indonesia — we sell the corner of it we actually know.

The company

A Specialist, Not a Marketplace

Misool Diving Raja Ampat operates under Juara Holding Group, which runs several Indonesian travel brands — Komodo Luxury among them. That parent relationship is the only corporate claim on this page, and it is the one you can check. Everything else here describes how the work is done rather than how long anyone has been passionate about it. We run one product in one region: a resort-based private trip through South Misool. Ask us about Komodo and we will point you at the people in the group who actually run it.

How we work

Six Things That Describe the Operation

Process rather than pedigree. Each of these is checkable against a page on this site.

Who answers here
Two guests walking a quiet white-sand beach, karst headlands and moored boats behind them

We run private departures

your group only

Every trip is private to your group. That is why the itinerary can be redrawn around your group and why the site list changes on the morning against the tide.

We quote, we do not price-list

per group

A group of four and a full twelve are not the same trip. Quoting from one table would mean overcharging one of them, so the number is written after we know the group.

We say no

when the trip does not fit

Under a week total, newly certified, or half the party not diving — there are cases where Misool is the wrong answer, and we publish them rather than sell around them.

We name a desk, not a cast

no invented biographies

Enquiries, operations, editorial and aftercare are functions. Telling you which one handles your enquiry is more useful than a biography you cannot verify.

We correct in public

when we get it wrong

Where something on this site turns out to be wrong it gets fixed and said, rather than quietly smoothed over.

We fund the reserve

2% of every trip

Two per cent of every package price goes to the Misool Foundation's ranger patrol. The reef we sell only exists because somebody patrols it.

How we choose

The Standards Behind All of It

Three pages that show the working rather than assert the result.

How we vet partners

A weighted evaluation with safety at 35% and conservation at 30%. Published so you can argue with the weightings.

Our methodology

How we check what we publish

Prices, dates and rules are checked against the operator or the authority that sets them, and flagged where they cannot be.

Editorial standards

What we do about impact

Ranger funding, no single-use plastics, local employment and waste treatment aboard.

Ask Us Anything

Including the awkward questions. If Misool is the wrong trip for you, that is a useful answer and we would rather give it early.
